I\'ve come across a packed autograph album, which includes the signatures of many bands & artist including the likes of Dusty Springfield, Sounds Incorporated, Wayne Fontana etc. Of specific interest though were those of The T-Bones which I was aware of through association with Keith Emerson and The Sapphires, The Giants which I\'ve since leant were also Brighton based bands. I haven\'t had a chance to check or even ID most of the others yet although I can see The Pirates & The Cruisers. The dates on some entries are \'64 & \'66 - a fascination time capsule. Would be very interested to know which other bands/artist would possibly have been on the local circuit at that time if anyone can help. |

I am saddened to announce the death of Tony Burchell. Founder member and vocalist of The Hustlers rock and roll band. He was instrumental in forming the band in 1960 and sang for the last time with the four remaining original members on November the 27th 2016. Rest in peace Tony my great friend and band mate. You will be joining the greats in heaven now. |

Thanks for the info. I have my own Top 20 blog which details the bands that played a club by that name in my home town. Shelley were among them and having had no info about the band, this site has proved invaluable. |

Trying to find info on the Montpelier Rooms |

The reason being I was a Brighton Scooter boy (Mod) in 1964 and have many memories of all the scooters lined up in Montpelier Road. Often my mates and I couldn\'t go in the \"Rooms\" because we didn\'t have enough money all apprentices!! I can remember one time we got as close to the building as possible to try and hear Millie (My Boy Lollipop). Also when I did get in being within a few feet of Keith Emerson and many years later seeing him with ELP at the Dome performing the \"Tarkus\" album. We also spent a lot of time in the Scandinavia Coffee Bar in the basement making one hot chocolate last all night. So much to remember All Night Raves at the Florida Rooms I could go on and on.......but won\'t!! Regards Dave Cross |
