Besides a farm Cwarel Uchaf there is also a, nearby, cottage Cwarel Isaf (coords 52.167247, -4.096530). It is notable because the cybernetics scientist Stafford Beer bought it and lived there in the 1970s. Question: In Welsh, does twmp ever mutate to dwmp? There is a link to suggest it does in GPC, but they do not always guarantee accuracy when it comes to mutations. Thank you. |

Re. Welsh dictionary. The word \'Cadlas\'. Can mean hay-yard. Can also refer to artillery ground for practicing archery. Enter the word \'cadlas\' into Google Books search and see \'A Dictionary of the Welsh Language\' by William Owen Pughe published Denbigh 1832. There is a \'Caer r gadlas\' near the centre of Corwen on the 1839 Tithe Map (google \'Cynefin Tithe\') |
