Easy big fella easy. I have allot of love for you guys just read carefully what I wrote. You are right it was a missunderstanding and I apologize. I did not mean to offend anyone I love you guys!!! I was just concerned as to how it came out. You guys played well and we ALL hope you stay together!!! I don't doubt anyone on this team ability. You guys are the best. It was simply a question and I didn't mean anything or didn't by it. It caught my eye so I asked. And about Andre posting the results..... I just wanted to say I appreciated his posting it. I knew him back when he lived in Illinois that is why I wrote his name. Now if you have a problem with that then I suggest you take it up with him. I was mearly thanking him because I knew him from 10 years ago. My wife and I are proud of the USA Men's team and I am a big fan of yours John. I just had a question and I asked. So don't get upset when someone asks you a simple question. I admit I was wrong and I apologize. Best of luck to you ALL. I will always be a fan of each and every one of you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Yes Mike Dre is right, I didnt mean it that way. I meant the teams have never stayed together. Which didnt give the team a chance bulid on expereince. That was one of this teams flaws. I have been through alot of changes with player and coaching personal with this team. Always learning new systems or new players constantly can be hard. I can give you an example Demark has played together for 12 years now with only two players retiring. They are now two time PARALYMPIC CHAMPIONS. I respect all of my past teammates. The teams i was a part of didnt gell the way this team has, and this team has a great future because we have the people that beleive in us now! We have finally got USA Goalball the respect it deserves! So please don't question my respect for past teammates or the game. If you have any futher issues email me. Instead of using this as a discussion board. instead of well wishing. Andre has done a great job posting but it has been a joined effort between both of us, not just one or the other. |

Hi gang, Well I am sure it was a missunderstanding given that John is excited about winning Mike. He is just happy as well as all of us. John knows everything and anything about goalball. You make a valid point however I don't think he meant it that way. Anyways I created these pictures of the guys celebrating after winning the bronze. They make me laugh so hard and I know not everyone is a #7 but that is the only uniform I could add to them. If you can't see them let me know and I will add them to the site. Great job guys and I hope you are having a few cold ones while you are there!!!

Hey Mike you are right. Can't forget about the past of the future will be dystroyed. These guys earned it and it makes me want to put on pads and go and play right now. Both teams deserved it. You and I both know that. I am not sure John meant that the other teams were failures, I think he just meant that they did not stay together however it is not up to the team, it is up to the coaches to decide that. The only thing I want to add, I am so glad that they beat CANADA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! woooooooooooooooooooooooooo go USA. |

Congratulations gentleman on your hard fought victory in bringing back a bronze medal for the country. You not only won a medal, but you have restored respect from the rest of the world. USA goalball has had its ups and downs however, we cannot forget all of those athletes before you nor can we sit back and be complacent in the future. You have a great bunch of guys there who, from what I understand, have worked hard these last 3 years together. With all the weightlifting, running and training at a crazy altitude and finding the perfect mix of guys who could get along. You guys did it and did it well. I do have a concern and I am sure that it is a misunderstanding on my part so allow me to ask this… John wrote in one of his messages “ANd this is just the beginning, This team plans to stay together, which is something the other USA teams have failed.” My question to you John is weren’t you a part of those past failing teams? Didn’t you go to Sydney and to Brazil? I don’t think they failed, they helped. I think we can all agree that this is a very important time in the history of goalball and I am proud of all of you guys. Even the guys who did not go to the 2004 Paralympics like Watson, Chris Piper, Joey Hamilton, Luke Patterson, Danny Fappiano and you Asbury. These guys also help build what was accomplished this last few weeks. Had it not been for them and their role in the history of USA goalball, I don’t believe that the team would be where it is today. Respect the past and the future will flourish. Guys, great job!!!!!!!! USA Forever!!!! Stay together and focused and I am sure the medals will keep coming. Oh and before I forget, Andre thank you for posting information on the web site. I didn’t see anyone else thank you but my wife and I couldn’t find any faster information then on this site. |

The blood, the sweat, the tears, the drills, the thrills, the fears, the shots to the face, the aching bones, the arguments, the laughter, the will to survive, the will to stay alive, the will to win, IS ALL FOR NOTHING! I am so proud of the men's USA goalball team. Each and every one of you should be so proud of yourselves. We are all proud of you because it was never easy. There was no easy way out. Instead of packing it in, you faught till the end. You stayed together as a team, and that is what all great teams need to do to win. And I can't help but to think that beating Canada was soooo sweet! You have all proved that you are the best in the U.S., and now among the best in the entire world! And John, what was that? You were so happy after winning, you could run sprints? I'll remember that when you get home. |

Does anyone know if they played yet (the men)? We are all sitting here on our hands just dying to find out. Goalball has come a long way here in the US since the days when Patti Egensteiner would single-handedly win national championships to the dark days of USA Men's goalball (George Morris). Congrads to both Men and Women. If I would say anyone deserved it more would be the guys. Long do we miss the days of goalball in the midwest. Does anyone remember all the Chicago tournaments? And a united USABA Nationals? Well these games are for all of us who have ever laced up and padded up, traveled to Canada in a mini van, took the train 17 hours, broke and sparined something, played on a team that never won a game, gone to the Paralympics or just playing in a small tournament in Michigan. These guys play for you and the pride of the USA. So no matter what happens today, you guys deserve an applauds. USA is once again back on the map officially in the world of goalball. A game that we built to elite status and faltered a bit. But we are back. Respect USA Men..... RESPECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
