My child is taking me to my wits end. She is stealing small things from classmates, mothering everyone, irritating her normally very patient teacher. Her only saving grace is she is terribly loving and funny. She and I have been havng differences since she was 4 yrs old! It has been almost a constant battle to maintain, not only my authority, but my composure. I have been consistent and fair in doling out punishment, love, time, and attention. She has never wanted for any of these things. Her dad and I are still married and have a pretty good relationship (though it wasn't always.) She has been diagnosed with ADHD, also.
If there are any parents out there willing to be a part of a small support group that I really need, please, please contact me as soon as possible.
