My 8 month old son refuses to eat solid foods. The minute you put a spoon towards him he clams up and starts shaking his head from side to side. He won't even give the food a chance. We have tried all kinds of baby food from organic to making our own in a mill.
We have also tried infant feeders because he takes his bottle of formula just fine. But as soon as he tastes something different he does not want it. He is healthy and happy but we are concerned that he is not gaining enough weight and the longer he goes is there going to be problems. any advice would help.

I was really lucky with my son so I havent actually tried this one but how about putting baby cereal or baby rice in his milk to thicken the feel and change the taste of his milk, maybe its the spoon - have you tried letting him get his fingers in the bowl?
