I work in a kindergarden, and I have this 2, nearly 3 year old child who had this intense fear of going to to the toliet. Our setting is in a old biliding and the childrens toliets have men basins; every few minutes they clean out themselfs. This causes a loud crashing noise, which is quite terrifying for a child, especially if they are alone in the toloet. The rest of the kids were scared too but they are all now ok, but this child however gets into a hesterical state every time she has to go to the toliet on her own, The toliet is next door the classroom and even though somties we do go with them, this child has to go very often and isnt always possible to accompany her every time?
Ive tried talking to her about it, showing her its only water comming down..i made her touch the water....i stand by the door, but nothing helps!..
please any advice what to do would be greatly appreictaed!!!!!
