Depending on what method you have used in the past...I would count him out. Sometimes they can tune you out but if they hear you count, they tend to listen. At three, I would do the time out. If he responds before three, I would show praise so he can see that there is a good consequence and a bad consequence. Hope that helps.
Yeah I agree, I usually ask my son 3 times to do something. Once nicely, second a bit more firmly then the third time with a warning if he doesn't do it I will count to three and he will go in time out. I usually get to about 2 and he does what I ask!
