Dear Online Concerned Parents,

Dear Online Concerned Parents,

It has come to my understanding that in dealing with my parents when it came to computer games that there was a lack of knowledge and a need for concern. My parents, like many others out there, had no idea why I was staying up late and why dinner had to be eaten in my room. After numerous heated discussions over the game I came to the conclusion that most adults need some sort of help understanding what their children are doing on the computer.

While I understand that many of you here have some understanding of online communities I would like to know the concerns you have with your children being in these communities. Those of you who are children reading I also ask for your help. I have no doubt that you have had run-ins with your parents when it comes to the games you play. If you could convey their concerns to me as well that would be very much appreciated.

In this new era of computer gamming, many parents are left in the dark. I am writing this article in hope that through your feedback, parents would get a grasp on the games their children are playing.

Re: Dear Online Concerned Parents,

You are right indeed...I will not allow my daughter in chat rooms, she thinks that terrible and unfair but as a parent my job isn’t to always be fair...but, it is always to keep her safe.

I generally don’t have a problem with video games and the such...I feel that those are today’s board games of yesterday, so I’m not upset with that, some games are very violent and should only be played for age appropriate kids...no matter how fun they are. At 33 I even enjoy playing some of them….. It’s just like TV, a show might be great but depending on the age of the child a parent has to use discretion
