An ITV show called Holiday Showdown really upset me last week because it showed a girl of about 10 being smacked on the bottom. The girls parents also swore and shouted a lot at her and her younger sister.In the show two families shared a holiday and the other family were rightly upset by what they saw.The girl was made to stand up in a campsite to have her bottom smacked in front of the other family and their chidlren, not to mention onlookers and the camera crew. But imagine the humiliation of getting a smacked bum in front of millions on TV. If reasonable and moderate smacking works for some parents fine but not in public. its cruel and humiliating especially for an older child.
