How old is the child? You could take the child to the dentist and they have mouth guards that help.

My daughter grinds her teeth at night and the dentist said nothing they can do about it except provide her with a tooth guard as Kendra says. They dont' stop them from grinding their teeth but they do stop the noise (which is horrendous...I go in to kiss her goodnight with my fingers in my ears!)
