Klingy child

My best friend is having attachment issues with her son. She can't sit him down for two seconds and he's sreaming; so she runs and picks him up! Not a good idea I know. She'll try to let him cry but he gets so upset he throws up. What are some great tips and ideas for breaking this habit once and for all?

Thanks a bunch
a concerned friend

Re: Klingy child

Could try taking him to a play group so he is distracted by other kids. he can then get use to being away frm his mum a bit more.
the other option is getting him use to someone else being around if he starts wanting his mum someone else picks him up and comforts him.
distracting him and hopefully getting him away from his mum.
