My daughter, who is 6 years old, is embarrassed by her hairy legs, so much so that she has given up going to her local gymnastics class, which she was good in.
I do not want to shave her legs, or bleach the hair, and was wondering if anybody knew of a remedy that is pain free and can help my daughter to rebuild her self esteem.
Any advice or product info would be appreciated
wont you just use that neet roll on hair removal it dont cost must it dont burn or nothing it stinks though but it works good she will be back jumping around the gym in no time bet
its good that you aren't going to shave her legs, it only grows back thicker in the end. maybe you could take her to get them waxed? or do it yourself if you think she would b ok, it doesnt really hurt but she might b a bit scared since she's only 6. this way the hair will eventually grow back thinner. or you could try epilating, but this is quite painful! depilatory cream is the easiest and most painless way to remove the hair i would think although it will grow back quicker than waxing. so i would go with waxing if i were you, but if it is painful for your daughter try depilatory cream! good luck

She can wear long panties.
But fixing the problem tells her that it IS a problem and then it actually re-enforces low self-esteem because it is a patch, not a solution to her atitude. My support system is calling Dr. Aldort for a phone advice session. She is great. Her book and tapes are great too. But maybe you can let her skip gimnastics for now and not make a deal out of it. Hairyness changes and she will change and new things will show up.
My daughter at that age was embarrassed as well. I just explained to her that she was young and all young children have same thing. I remember the first time she looked at her legs, she said "Omg, I am turning into Dad"... I started laughing and so did she. She eventually got over it and forgot about it. But everyone is different. How about stockings? Can she put stockings on? Tights?
Been there myself and unfortunately my daughter suffers from it too. Once I asked a skin specialist for a permanent remady and she told me that waxing at the age of 7 eradicated the problem 80% and after that you can continue but with miraculous results. You got to discuss it with her cause I did endup shaving my legs myself, the result is I am still suffering
