Re: Parenting

I went through this with my son for many years. He wouldn't do his homework and would only do some of his work in school. Once they turned his desk toward a wall so that he wouldn't see the other students thinking that would help. Well, it didn't, all he did was pick the paint off of the wall. He ended up failing the 7th grade. I think that was the real kicker for him. The fact of seeing his friends go to another grade and another school and him having to stay there really bit him in the butt. Then when he finally got into the 8th grade he got interested in girls and that is when he really changed for the better.

I think that boys just go through that. It drives the parent's crazy but, I don't really think that there is an easy fix. We tried talking to him, rewarding him for good grades, punishing him and everything in between and nothing worked. My sister and her husband go through the same thing with their son so, I really think that it has alot to do with just bieng a boy! Sorry
