hard to get my 3 year old to bed

Hi
I need help with my 3 year old daughter.
she is very spoiled since she was born she got whatever she would want when my baby now 16 months old was born I read the book 1-2-3 magic it helped a little for some things.
the main problem that I am having now is bed time she sleep in my bed or in her older sisters bed every night.
I got her a toddler bed with nice exiting bedding but she doesn't want to sleep in her bed.
I stay in her room on the floor until she falls asleep ,she cry's and begs me to get out.
Last night I put here to bed and after about an hour of crying she was fast asleep.
She woke up at 3:00 am wanting to get into my bed but I didn't let her I put her back in to her bed and I lied on the floor till she was back asleep, about 45 minuets she was back in my bed I was to tired and just let her stay in my bed.
Today all day she spoke about not going to her bed to sleep and if I tell here that she will sleep in her bed tonight she cried and screamed.
It is almost bed time now so I got to go and try to deal with here.
I would like any good advise.

Thanks

Re: hard to get my 3 year old to bed

Make bedtime in her bed special. Tell her you are going to take her to the store to buy a special stuffed animal/book/blanket or whatever trips her trigger and tell her that it is her "special sleep in my own bed alone-toy". Then buy and egg timer and let her set it 10 min before it is time to go to bed and have a race into bed when the bell dings. Read a story, kiss her goodnight, turn out the lights, leave the room. If she gets up gently put her back in bed without a word, kiss her and leave the room. After a few times she will get the idea that you are serious. (I read somewhere that letting a kid get to sleep on their own teaches them independance)
Another thing I tried when I was a nanny was to make up a chart the kiddos name got some star sticker and for every night she went to bed and stayed there she got to put a star by her name. When she got an agreed upon number by her name we did something special like make cookies, went to a movie, got her a cheap toy (sometimes she chose).

Good luck!!!!
