My 5 1/2 yr old daughter is constantly crying for really silly reasons. Maybe because her 3 year old brother snatched something off her, or because the cat (whom she adores) runs away when he sees her coming, or simply because she doesn't get her own way. I've tried to explain that she doesn't need to cry and that we wont actually know when she is really hurt and needs attention. I have also tried to explain that she will be known as a cry baby which isnt nice, although not sure if same occurs at school or at other peoples houses if we are not around. The constant crying is driving me crazy. Any suggestions?

i dont have any sugestions sorry.i just thought id let you know that i have one exactly the same, cries all the time for absolutley no reason.i think they enjoy hearing themselves.i try to switch off from her and hope shel grow out of it.hang in there.
