I would like to further clarify the circumstances of my reinstatement. Rick's use of the word "untimely" in regards to my termination is more accurately described as "unjustified." There were two charges levied against me. One was found to be untimely and the other was unsubstantiated. The charges were the result of a witch-hunt for me, which was supported by the highest levels of management in the Parks and Recreation Dept. The unsubstantiated charge was a collection of heresay statements and lies which was sickening in the extreme to which it was perpetrated. The untimely charge was an isolated, minor mistake that was seized upon and exploited in exaggeration, and in the incorrect implementation of the charge. And all of this effort was at the waste of 2-3 months of taxpayer time and money. But this is good enough for you to lose your job at P&R. It must also be noted that I had no previous discipline....so much for "progressive discipline" at P&R. Fortunately cooler heads (of course, outside and above P&R), prevailed. Anyone who knows me, knows that I never swerved from the following statement: "I will be back; it's just a matter of when and how big the check will be." Hopefully, my reistatement will usher in a new era of fairness and honesty in regards to employee relations at P&R...but I doubt it will, given their past history of employee abuse, coupled with their current actions. I will NEVER give up to make things better for all employees. I will ALWAYS fight dishonest, illegal, and unfair practices. Intimidation is a big tactic used by bullies...I don't scare. Honest and fair dealings at P&R ARE coming.
