Edwin Boschee Obituary

Edwin Boschee, 84, Jamestown, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown.



Mr. Boschee was born Jan. 18, 1919, in Wishek, N.D., the son of John and Magdalena (Goebel) Boschee. He received his education in rural Wishek schools. He entered the U.S. Army on March 28, 1941, where he served in the European African Middle Eastern Theater. On Dec. 3, 1945 he was discharged from Camp McCoy, Wis. He served under Gen. George S. Patton at one time. He received the American Theater Service Ribbon, American Defense Service Ribbon, two Overseas Service Bars, and a Good Conduct Medal. He married LuElla Becker on June 19, 1949, at his family’s farm home in Lehr, N.D. In 1955 they moved to Jamestown, and later resided in Lehr, LaMoure and Kirkland, Wash. In 1962 they returned to Jamestown, where he was employed at Newman Signs Company for 25 years as a welder. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, where he served as deacon, Jamestown Eagles, and American Legion Post 14. He enjoyed playing cards and woodworking.



He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Sandra (Gerald) Bishop, Issaquah, Wash., and Roxann (Steven) Ree, Rice, Minn.; a brother, Gideon Boschee, Wishek, N.D.; five sisters, Irene Kautz, Wishek, Alma Decker, Miles City, Mont., and Edna (Walter) Perleberg, Alleen (Mike) Buetow and Lorraine (Wilbur) Wahl, all Jamestown; and two grandchildren.



He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister.



Services: 2:30 p.m. today, United Presbyterian Church, Jamestown, with the Rev. David Thompson officiating. Arrangements by Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.



Burial: 10 a.m. Monday, North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
