Jake Boschee Obituary

Jake Boschee, 81, died October 11, 2003 in a Minot nursing care facility.

Jake was born on September 4, 1921, in Turtle Lake, ND, to Jacob and Christina (Bounet) Boschee. He attended grade school in Turtle Lake. Following his education, he worked for area farmers near Turtle Lake for several years. He entered the United States Army on December 16, 1942, and served on a hospital ship in the Pacific. He was honorably discharged from the service on December 7, 1945. He returned to North Dakota and started his own mechanic shop in Turtle Lake for several years. He worked on a construction crew and helped in the building of the Garrison Dam. He married Janice "Coleen" Allshouse on December 17, 1955, in Berthold, ND. They lived in Berthold and several other cities in North Dakota during their marriage before returning to Berthold. Jake worked as a mechanic for Jim Ryan Chevrolet until 1978. He also worked for Neshem-Peterson Construction in Berthold for several years before his retirement. He moved to Minot in 1989, and Coleen and Jake were later divorced. During the last three years, Jake was lovingly cared for by his daughter Leslie, in her home. He continued to live in Minot until the time of his death.

He was a member of the Berthold American Legion and the Minot Eagles Aerie.

Survivors: Children, Jake (Sandy) Boschee, Laurie Boschee and leslie Boschee, all of Minot, Tamie (Jon) Larson, Cheney, WA, and Brad (Lorraine) Boschee, Phoenix, AZ; seven grandchidren, Boyd, Joshua and Wyatt Boschee, Heather and Chris Larson, Lance Boschee and Bradley James Krueger; sisters, Maltinda, Elizabeth Hoffer and Mary Dockter. Several nieces and nephews also survive. His parents, brothers Bill, Edward and Henry Boschee and sister, Martha preceded him in death.
