Carnegie Institution of Washington

I'm trying to locate information on the political relationship between United Fruit and the Carnegie Institution of Washington's Maya archaeology program. I know that United Fruit provided transportation for Carnegie archaeologists to Guatemala (and possibly Mexico)from New Orleans, subsidized archaeological investigations, site reconstruction, and publication (for Zaculeu in Guatemala), and set aside property for archaeological "parks" (e.g., Quirigua, Izabal, Guatemala). Both organizations had strong Boston (and presumably Harvard connections)and the survival of each depended upon various "good will" initiatives. Any other leads would be appreciated.
