My grandfather Louis Sylvester worked on the SS Rama that sailed from Kingston Jamaica to New Orleans. The SS Rama did port on 11/10/1919. Hopefully someone has more information about this ship and crew.
I have had good luck using www.ancestry.com You can search records for ships arriving in various ports. You may have to wade around a bit, but there is a lot of info.
