Should we be getting ready?

I posed the question:

Should we be getting ready?

Answer: NO.

We need to BE READY...Big difference.

If we examine Matthew 25:1-13 where Jesus gave a parable concerning the 10 VIRGINS, we see that 5 were WISE and the other 5 were FOOLISH. The bridegroom left (analogy of Christ, who is the bridegroom of the church who is the bride)the virgins, but they were to await his return but they needed to BE ready when he returns with their lamps trimmed having enough oil. But when the bridegroom returned the WISE were ready but the FOOLISH were not, for they did not have any oil (oil-typical of anointing > which is received through relationship with God). They attempted to ask the WISE for oil but they were wise enough not to give any lest they did not have enough for them to go. As Christians, we need to make sure that we do not allow anyone to cause us to forsake this hope that we have or to compromise it , because in doing so we could lose out on a tremendous blessing and eternal reward.

We need to make our choice to be either WISE or FOOLISH. This parable basically describes how it will be when he returns and we ought to learn from it.

According to this parable, Christians will be in 1 of 2 states on Christ's return; either some will BE READY or some will be in the attempt of GETTING READY but still lose out because there will not be enough time since they started to get ready TOO LATE.

"Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come" (Mat.24;42).
