Sharing a room and fighting

Unfortunately after a divorce myself and two children have had to leave our house and are now homeless. We have been provided with temporary accomadation by our local council which is a one bedroomed place. My two children are used to having there own bedrooms and bedtime has turned from a peaceful relaxing time in the evening to world war three. As soon as I leave the room they begin argueing, bickering and fighting. It is taking about two hours every night for them to stop and finally go to sleep. It is driving me mad and i am getting close to the end of my teather.
I know they are finding times hard and have just lost their home ,but so am I! I've tried doing different bedtimes, taking things away from them if they don't go to sleep, stoping them doing things with friends etc etc but nothing is working. If anyone has any advice please help as I can't deal with this every night.
