As far as I know, from my own experience and from reading and listening to Aldort's work, this is a sign of having fears and insecurity. Do reassure her, but also give her opportunities to see that she knows things on her own. For example, you can say, "they look like your fingers to me, do they feel like they are your fingers?" This way she answers the question for herself.
But don't insist. If she needs to get it from you for a while, let her be sure that you will respond kindly so she develops a sense of security and trust.
