I have noticed lately that my 5 Year Old son does not like to participate in large group activities. For example we were at a Christmas Party and they had 30 kids all playing a game "pass the present" and he would not participate. He stood back and watched. Any advise?

It is probably just a personality thing, my son is a bit like that although he got a bit better with age, maybe it was a confidence thing. Although he not the centre of things.

I wouldn't push or worry as some kids are just observer/receiver types in group situations and operate better one on one or in small groups.
