I am just a newbie here.

i am a single parent and i have two kids.

I have quite some behavorial issue with the young one (a boy of seven with eczema).

Every time i want to ask him to do something (like doing his homeworks, or going to bed early) he goes into terrible tantrum and keeps screaming and gets into rage.

The fact that his sister (ten years old) keeps arguing with me when i try to discipline him (like preventing him from watching tv) does not make things better.

I am trying to ground him but i am ot sure he gets the connection between being grounded and his behavior. when i want to talk to him, he just cut himself from me and is not listening at all.

i am at a loss at what to do.

Any advice, please

how long does it take to see a result when disciplining children ?

at the moment, when my son misbehave, i take his favorite toy away and instead of making him understand and do what i want him to do, he goes into a excruciating rage, screams his lungs off and get very violent. Is it a natural reaction ?

It takes about one hours before he can have a semblance of calmness.

It is a nightmare to get him brush his teeth, even though he just returned from the hospital to have six teeth taken out. Even the day freshly out of the hospital, he was asking for sweeties. i did not get him any,but i am really at a loss at what comes into his mind.
