Man who provided gun used to kill Boone County Deputy Jacob Pickett sentenced to 46 years

From the Indianapolis Star:

The man who provided the gun used to kill Boone County Sheriff's Deputy Jacob Pickett in March 2018 has been sentenced to nearly 50 years in prison.

John Austin Ball, 24, pleaded guilty to multiple charges and was sentenced to 46 years in the 34-year-old deputy's slaying, which rocked the Boone County community.

Ball is one of three men charged in connection with Pickett's death, and the second to be sentenced. The shooter, Anthony Baumgardt, pleaded guilty to killing Pickett and is serving life in prison without the possibility of parole.

John Baldwin Jr., who police say was driving the car, faces multiple charges, including murder. He's scheduled to appear for a jury trial in April.
