Ex-Marion County Jail II officer loses job at Nevada facility after neo-Nazi posts found
From the Indianapolis Star.
A former Marion County jail officer has been placed on leave from his job at a Nevada immigration detention center after reports emerged he authored dozens of posts on a now-defunct neo-Nazi website, many of which appear to have been written while he was working in Indianapolis.
On Monday, digital media outlet VICE published an article detailing posts 31-year-old Travis Frey allegedly wrote on Iron March between August 2013 and June 2017.
The website was taken down in late 2017, but a database associated with the forum was dumped onto the Internet Archive in November, making its user list and site data publicly available.
Frey works for CoreCivic, a private prison company operating more than 100 prisons or detention centers across the country — including Marion County Jail II, where he previously served as chief of security. Frey is a captain at the Nevada Southern Detention Center, according to VICE.
