Re: certification

Hey Jason, getting everyone on the same page as you know has been a major problem over the years.Even though companies preach safety we all know production is at the top of their list.Even after long layoff's we have been criticzed about production after only a couple of days working. So that really tells you what it's all about.
We all understand the business end of it,but if you go by the book, can you still put down the amount the companies want without cheating a bit.Which is usually 130 cubic metres plus.
If you can only put down 100 cubes or less day, chances are you will be sitting at home more than you like, especially if you have anything to do with a union.
Sure there are a few good things that have come out of the certification, but they are grasping for straws and creating alot more presure than we need.

So now what do they come up with.....more rules that we don't need.We already have more people looking over our shoulders than your local downtown drug dealer, just waiting to pounce on you for a little mistake.
This site seems a little quiet but maybe if we can keep it going we can create some more imput.

Re: certification

The process to train and certify is absolutely ridiculous. The old method of breaking in a faller is the only thing that works. The stupid expensive course should be canceled immediately.
Certification Is OK, but why should we pay. If we got something for it fine. But it was rammed down our throat as part of a "SAFETY" program. Isn't all safty costs supossed to be covered by the companys.

Re: certification

You are so right, breaking in with second growth I think will give them a false sense of security. Totally different ball game out in the real world.
