For me personally, I like Velm's group heal as opposed to using healing potions. By the time you get Velm, you have 3 players who can attack and Velm can be used for shielding, mesmerization and healing. Although, I do keep healing potions around for time to time use when only one or two players need healing. Of course, everyone has their own strategy. |

the answer to your question can be yes and no depending on the situation. "Better" is a relative term that required some criteria for comparison. The Yes scenarios 1. one character is seriously injured (cisi) while the rest sustain minor hits on their health and needs healing that is above what Velm can heal. 2. the cisi's turn is up but Velm's turn is still a long way back and you doubt the cisi can survive till velm's turn, considering the enemy would attack him/her anytime. 3. Minor damage hits below the hps of velm's group heal that REALLY bug you and distracts you from the game or because your intuition tells you to take precautions to prepare for a big hit from the enemy; you want this opportunity for velm to clobber/mesmerize/group shield in this round before the enemy takes some action you will hate later eg focus or grp shield(KT2) The No scenario 1. More than one character are 'moderately' (you have to judge how much is moderate) injured by group damage or have accumulated hits on their health. 2. While it is true using Velm to heal reduces 1 turn to attack, it is still better than giving up 3 or 4 turns to heal your team by potions that can be focused on attacking. 3. Apply your bandages early; I believe i mentioned this somewhere on skills comparison (in velm's section). Maintain rasonable good health among team members and you won't fear your characters will die with one evil swipe from your enemy

YES>> Velm is unavailible for the turn for a long time, but it is the character that needs serious healings, and it his his/her turn. Also, if there are two people that need 150 hp healing, use pots on the first one that gets to attack. NO>> Velm will be attacking soon, and the healing is a minor one. And besides, Panacea and Renew is better than Panacea alone. |
