My letter to neopets about combat focus
Ok this is getting me really annoyed. Monsters like Bionic Cybunny and Heart of Nox ALWAYS use Combat Focus the first chance they get. This is REALLY annoying because it takes forever to kill them, and they bearly any damage. Have you ever tried to kill a team of 4 Bionic Cybunnies who automatically start the fight with Combat Foucs? It takes like 10 minutes to kill all of them, and you only get like 400 exp! PLEASE make it so that monsters cannot use combat focus, or take it out of the game completely! It does not make the game more "challenging", "fun", or better! Everyone thinks it sucks, and it does, so no one puts skill points into it! Please! Combat focus is driving me INSANE!!! TAKE IT OUT!!! |

True, cf makes the game more tedious. Its here since the start & will probably stay...but Hope springs eternal. cybunnies + MR, Def is even worse. This is what i usually do: 1. Try to mesmer some bunnies at the start so they don't start focusing. Get in few hits before the unmesmerized bunnies focus. Finish the unmesmerized bunnies/other species before unfreezing the remaining bunnies. 2. If u aren't sucessful in mesmerizing them, either ignore them and kill the other monsters first so you could concentrate on them OR target Mipsy's DD/GD at the focused bunnies while Rohane & Tally deal with the rest. Mips seems to be more successful against CF than rohane's or tally's. Look on the bright side. Terask II doesn't have focus.

Tracking the Faerie thief down isn't "challenging", fun, or better, but yet we still have to do it...I, personally, like it when they focus -- it adds another element to the game, that it gets progressively harder as you go on. |

I don't think the combat focus is that bad. I've found that Talinia's Spray of Arrows will do normal damage, and so will Mipsy's Obliterate or Astral Maelstrom. It's only Rohane/Velm's attacks that aren't very effective. |

*sticks leg out before a fleeing mouseyboy741* enemies CF - makes them VERY difficult to kill Rohane's CF - takes a VERY long time to kill them Either one makes the game even more boring |

I know it's annoying, but Neo added it to make the game harder and funner. They won't take it down. |

I agree CF is not fun, but there is no way they'll remove it- Try and mesmerize or stun as many as you can BEFORE they focus so that you can hit em more often for more dmg before they focus.... |

Yeah, CF is quite annoying, but they won't take it out. Most games include certain events/actions/enemies that are for the sole purpose of annoyance. It makes the player get into them game more because they have to figure out how to get around it. It's a classic gaming tactic. And I shuddered at Meowpillay's remark to this. Imagine KT2 using CF on InSaNe! mode... *shudders* |

Even if TNT does read your letter in person [which is unlikely], they probably will not change it. I'm sure Mr. Insane has no intention of changing NQII. I actually like it, but never mind that. If you hate it that much you can always play NQI ^.^ |

has anyone considered this combo? (this one makes good use of combat focus) rohane: -maxed combat focuse -maxed battle taunt -maxed innate magic resistance -maxed innate haste velm: -maxed heal -maxed group shield -maxed innate haste mipsy: -maxed group DD -maxed damage shields -maxed innate haste talinia: -maxed multiple targets -maxed shockwave -maxed innate haste anyways, this focuses on rohane being a shield and velm constantly healing him, while mipsy and talinia attacks with group attacks. |

Skill set to whiz through bionic cybunnies: Rohane: At least 10 points in: Stunning Strikes and Innate melee haste (and definitely Damage Increase and Crit.) Mipsy: At least 10 points in: Direct Damage, Group Haste, Damage Shields and Innate Casting Haste Talinia: At least 10 points in Shockwave(More than 13) Multiple Targets(More than 11) Innate Melee haste and IBD Velm: At least: 11 Celestial Hammer 11 Group Shield 7 Group Healing or Healing 11 Casting Haste 6 Mesmerization First Turn: Mipsy casts group haste Rohane and Talinia use melee or Multiple Targets on 1 cybunny and stun it. Velm Mesmerizes 1 cybunny Rohane and Talinia Attack another cybunny Second Turn: Mipsy DD's a focused cybunny Velm Celestial hammers the cybunny that has the first turn and is not mesmerized or Focused R&T attack the one Velm did not Hammer Mipsy DD's the focused one again Third Turn: R&T kill one cybunny Mipsy DD's again Velm Hammers the unfocused one Rohane attacks the mesmerized one Talinia kills the not focused, not just freed cybunny Mipsy hopefully kills the focused cybunny Fourth Turn: Velm mesmerizes the focused cybunny (if already dead, Celestial Hammer or Heal should be used) R&T attascks the unfocused cybunny and try to stun/shockwave it Mipsy DD's the focused and mesmerized cybunny Rohane attacks the unfocused cybunny Talinia uses multiple targets Mipsy DD's the recently unmesmerized cybunny Fifth Turn: Velm Group Heals All attack the last cybunny. Victory!! |

And by the way, do NOT try this skill set on InSaNe I died to the 4 faeries on InSaNe twice with this skill set and lost to Nox once on evil with this skill set. On evil, skip Hubrid Nox. (Otherwise, he is going to kill you) Works ok on KT2 |
