Different Ages

Hi all

i just wondered if any of the tutors have different structures to lessons depending on the age. For instance, i find someone of 13 is completely different to 16 in terms of concentrating and wanting to learn as well? Or is this just me!

Any help would be appreciated

Re: Different Ages

Hi Natalie

I do find that the younger ones get tired quickly, especially from vocal exercises. I have a 10year old student and she likes certain exercises but not for too long. She comes alive when singing so now we do more singing than exercises. I would try more singing and see what happens. Seems to help me!

Re: Different Ages

Hi Natalie,

I tent to start the younger students off with half hour sessions as they do seem to get tired quickly. Once they've got into the swing of things I then up the time to an hour.

Singing songs more than exercises (like Chioma said), is a good way to go until they are a little older and understand the point of exercises a little bit more.

I hope that helps!

Talena
