Divine justice
We should all pray to God to bring true justice in the world in order to be peace and safety, and also subdue the enemy. |

[Quote] We should all pray to God to bring true justice in the world in order to be peace and safety, and also subdue the enemy. [unquote] We should pray "Thy kingdom come," as past generations of believers have prayed--but we should also have the faith to know that such prayers will be answered when God sees fit. They, therefore, indeed, having come together, were questioning him, saying, `Lord, dost thou at this time restore the reign to Israel?' and he said unto them, `It is not yours to know times or seasons that the Father did appoint in His own authority; but ye shall receive power at the coming of the Holy Spirit upon you, and ye shall be witnesses to me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and unto the end of the earth.' And these things having said -- they beholding -- he was taken up, and a cloud did receive him up from their sight; and as they were looking stedfastly to the heaven in his going on, then, lo, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, `Men, Galileans, why do ye stand gazing into the heaven? this Jesus who was received up from you into the heaven, shall so come in what manner ye saw him going on to the heaven.' (Acts 1:6-11, Young's Literal Translation.) And when he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those slain because of the word of God, and because of the testimony that they held, and they were crying with a great voice, saying, `Till when, O Master, the Holy and the True, dost Thou not judge and take vengeance of our blood from those dwelling upon the land?' and there was given to each one white robes, and it was said to them that they may rest themselves yet a little time, till may be fulfilled also their fellow-servants and their brethren, who are about to be killed -- even as they. (Rev. 6:9-11, Young's Literal Translation.) the Lord is not slow in regard to the promise, as certain count slowness, but is long-suffering to us, not counselling any to be lost but all to pass on to reformation (2 Peter 3:9, Young's Literal Translation.) That last verse is not talking about the salvation of all, but about the special salvation of those who believe (1 Tim. 4:10.) God is calling a certain number of people to be saved out of the world (before our Lord's second advent), and He's not willing that any of them should be lost. We should be grateful for that, and we should be aware of the fact that our prayers don't always receive the answers we want. Concerning this thing thrice the Lord did I call upon, that it might depart from me, and He said to me, `Sufficient for thee is My grace, for My power in infirmity is perfected;' most gladly, therefore, will I rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of the Christ may rest on me (2 Cor. 12:8-9, Young's Literal Translation.) |
