I have a friend in recovery, who just lost her Grandmother, and whose sister in law (the mother of three) has been diagnosed with lung cancer. I'm sure the entire family could use your prayers. God bless. |

As I'm sure all of us have heard, our Nation's closest ally became a target of terrorism today. May our thoughts and prayers be with the dead, the injured, and their families. |

I received this email today, and would ask anyone reading this to pray for the author: I really don't have a particular desire to kill myself--just alot of obsessive thoughts about it. God has made it clear to me that He doesn't want me to do it and as my desire is to please Him I am giving it my all not to do it. I just don't feel that I am thinking that clearly and am fearful that things may get out of my control. I have felt more and more odd since the (thyroid) surgery, and now the hormones that I have been taking for all of two days seems to be making me feel even more odd--even having brief halucinations when waking up. |

A friend of mine just found out that her mother may have cancer. Her mother's name is Barbra, she goes for tests this coming week, and I would ask all who visit these pages to pray for her. May God bless all who do. |

A young man who married a Muslim girl (who has converted to Christianity) has had to change his name and go into hiding to avoid the numerous death threats which he has received. Even his mother has been threatened. The girl's family has already had a funeral for her. Please pray for all of them. God Bless. |

Ed's wife (Lee Ann) has been sick. He says "she seems on the mend now, but I'd appreciate any prayers for the pregnancy period and the child. I want to really dedicate this child to the Lord." They're expecting their first baby, and I would ask all who visit this forum to pray for all of them. God Bless. |

They had services for Mrs. Kelly yesterday, and the pastor who'd been counselling her said she died in the faith. As a believer in Christ--at the resurrection of the just (a better resurrection)--she will have a glorifired body, free from all sickness and pain. I thank all who prayed for her, and ask you to continue to remember her family in your prayers. God Bless. |

The last time I was updated on John's condition, a brother in Christ wrote: All the stabbing pains are gone, though he still has some twitching and cramps. I suspect the stabbing pains were due to new nerve damage and the rest is a result of old nerve damage, which should get better slowly, though perhaps not completely. The same brother now writes: John still has trouble, but there is another promising treatment to be tried soon. It is likely his condition was an auto immune response reaction to the neurotoxin of an exceptionally poisonous spider. The new drug should wipe the memory of his immune system. This is good news. Let's remember John in our prayers. |

I previously wrote: [quote] A young man who married a Muslim girl (who has converted to Christianity) has had to change his name and go into hiding to avoid the numerous death threats which he has received. Even his mother has been threatened. The girl's family has already had a funeral for her. Please pray for all of them. [unquote] I understand the young lady's family has been in touch with her, and she's been invited to visit them if she leaves her husband at home (a very dangerous thing to do when one is under a death sentence for converting from Islam to another faith, but also something that could be tempting to a young woman who desires some form of reconciliation with her family.) Please continue to pray for her. |

Our friend's daughter "underwent a heart cath in Columbia this morning. The Doctors could find no blockage!" He says that he and her mother "are praising God for the positive results!" May we all join them in this praise of Our most merciful Father. Amen.

Ed and Lee Ann had a baby boy, but from what I understand it was a very hard labor. They had to do a c section, Lee Ann lost a lot of blood, and she just got out of intensive care. Ed himself has been under a lot of stress, and I'm sure they could all use your prayers. |

President Bush said the following yesterday: Our nation is shocked and saddened by the news of the shootings at Virginia Tech...Schools should be places of safety and sanctuary and learning. When that sanctuary is violated, the impact is felt in every American classroom and every American community. Today our nation grieves with those who have lost loved ones at Virginia Tech. We hold the victims in our hearts, we lift them up in our prayers, and we ask a loving God to comfort those who are suffering today... AMEN. |

On May 6th of last year I wrote: A brother I know of is suffering with a painful nerve condition which is difficult to diagnose. Please pray for him. According to my most recent update on his condition, that brother (who's name is John) has "a unique form of a very rare disease," and has been undergoing a new experimental treatment this week. On Thursday he wrote: When the doctor comes in the morning, she has about six to eight interns in tow all taking notes and asking their own questions, like a TV show. They keep asking me if I feel any different yet; i guess they expect me to say something in the positive, but I told them that I'd have to see significant improvement to get their hopes up...Two more days to go. Sleep is hard. God is good. Have friends visiting to keep my mind occupied. Thanks for visiting with your prayers. I would ask all who visit here to keep this brother (and his family) in your prayers. I would also ask you to keep Grace in your prayers. According to her husband: Grace’s MRI showed a fluid-filled cavity in her brain at the intersection of the two hemispheres and above-center. ..The doctor said that the presence of this cavity could be the symptom of genetics or of something such as a virus poison. If it is found to be genetically-based then there is nothing that can be done other than giving medication to slow its progress. If it is viral or toxic in nature, then future tests should show this and perhaps something can be done and her condition could be, at least in part, reversible. Please keep Grace and her family in your prayers. The brother who received this request finds himself thinking of a friend who had brain cancer the last time he heard from him. While I don't know the name of this friend, I would also ask you to pray for him (and for anyone else God brings to mind as you read this.) |

By Michael Ireland © 2007 Assist News Service LAHORE, Pakistan – A Pakistani Christian has been sentenced to death for blasphemy by the sessions court in Lahore. According to sources in Pakistan, following the sentencing Wednesday, a large mob led by Islamic clerics responded by shouting slogans against Younis Masih and threatening anyone involved in providing security or legal assistance to "blasphemers." ...Although no one has yet been executed by the state for blasphemy, several have been murdered by extremists. Masih has been held in Kot Lakhpat prison since Sept. 11, 2005, where he faces regular threats to his security. Christian Solidarity Worldwide says Pakistan's blasphemy laws are regularly misused as a means of settling scores or targeting religious minorities. Although Masih will now appeal against the sentence in the High Court, he faces death threats from extremists even while he remains in jail. http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=55990 |

From our Brother John: [Quote] Dear prayer warriors, I need your prayers right now. My health seems to be spiraling down. I have deep cramping in just about every muscle group in my body, I'm weak and trembly. We think part of it is due to one med I was placed on while at the hospital, which I am going to begin coming off of today; it was for pain but it just seems to make things worse. So we're going to try to go back on the old meds I was on. Of course some of it may also be due to the steroids and immune suppressants I'm on. This part of the journey is looking like a very hard, very long road, more than even I could have imagined. I told God last night that I didn't think I can bear it, that perhaps He's made a mistake thinking this is a test I can bear. I certainly can't without you. Thank you for allowing me to share this with you and have the confidence you will say a prayer for me today. Love, John [unquote] P.S. I would also appreciate prayers for my father, who's now in the hospital. |

For two weeks, a group of South Korean Christians has been held hostage by Taliban thugs in Afghanistan...Were they smuggling arms into the country? No. Inciting violence? No. They were peaceful believers in Christ on short-term medical and humanitarian missions. Seventeen of the 23 hostages are females. Most of them are nurses who provide social services and relief. Over the past few days, the bloodthirsty jihadists have demanded that South Korea immediately withdraw troops from the Middle East, pay ransom and trade the civilian missionaries for imprisoned Taliban fighters. The Taliban leaders have made good on threats to kill the kidnapped Christians while Afghan officials plead fecklessly that their monstrous behavior is "un-Islamic." Two men, 29-year-old Shim Sung-min and 42-year-old Pastor Bae Hyeong-gyu, have already been shot to death and dumped in the name of Allah. Bae was a married father with a 9-year-old daughter. According to Korean media, he was from a devout Christian family from the island province of Jeju. He helped found the Saemmul Church south of Seoul, which sent the volunteers to Afghanistan. http://jewishworldreview.com/michelle/malkin080107.php3 Let's pray for these folks, especially that their faith and courage remain strong during the ordeal. G-d Bless. |

MINNEAPOLIS - Fears that the death toll would rise dramatically as workers searched through the wreckage of a bridge that plunged into the Mississippi River eased Friday when authorities lowered the number of missing from as many as 30 to just eight. Crews, weary from searching through swirling currents and waters muddied by debris, were encouraged by the news. Dozens were feared dead because the bridge fell during bumper-to-bumper traffic. "We were surprised that we didn't have more people seriously injured and killed," Minneapolis Fire Chief Jim Clack told The Associated Press. "I think it was something of a miracle." http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070803/ap_on_re_us/bridge_collapse Let's thank God for this (and all His mercies and blessings, perceived and unperceived.) |

I am very isolated due to a blood disorder that requires that I be in an environment of 70% or greater. Please, pray that God will find a home-study group for me. I've no idea how to go about finding such. Please pray also that it would be one centered upon with people gathered around Christ and not theology. Pm

I'm in Delaware, and I know a brother in Kennet Square Pa. who's interested in starting a home study group. If you're anywhere in the Delaware Valley, I'm sure either of us would be more than willing to come to you. If you live elsewhere, I know of universalist brothers and sisters in South Carolina, Alabama, England, and Norway who's views are biblical (and who might be able to visit you.) My email address is here if you think I can help. G-d Bless. |

Thanks, Mike. I'm in none of those areas. There is a Universalist Churh here but they gather around human unity and not Jesus. Just keep praying for me and I'm sure that God will open the right doors and I will be in fellowship with those He desires me to be with.:0) Often, He places me where He wants to use me and not where I'm most comfortable. I am so socially limited by my illness that it is hard for me to imagine where that might be now but I know I'm not excluded from His plan. Pam |

[Quote] One smokes and probably does drugs and so does her boyfriend [unquote] Are you assuming they use illegal drugs because they smoke tobacco? [Quote] and this other girl who made fun of me and other people [unquote] She may have repented of that years ago Maribel. [Quote] I met them yesterday [unquote] Were they friendly? Did they seem to have changed at all? Is it possible they've grown since you knew them? G-d Bless. |
