Pendle match report
IS IT ANY WONDER THAT THERE IS A SHORTAGE OF REFEREES WHEN YOU GET AN " UNBIASED " REPORT LIKE THAT. AS IN ALL SPORT A REFEREE CAN ONLY GIVE WHAT HE SEES AND HAS TO MAKE THAT DECISION IN AN INSTANT.UNLIKE THE PROFESSIONAL GAME HE HASNT GOT LINESMAN WHO SHOULD ALWAYS BE UP WITH PLAY AND WHO HAVE NO ALLEGIANCE TO EITHER SIDE. AT THIS LEVEL OF THE SPORT YOU WIN SOME AND YOU LOSE SOME BUT I WOULD IMAGINE BY THE CONTENTS OF THE REPORT THE REFEREE WAS NOT HELPED IN ANY WAY BY A LOAD OF SCREAMING PARENTS HURLING ABUSE AT HIM. JUST REMEMBER WITHOUT THESE PEOPLE LEAGUES THAT YOU ARE IN WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO RUN AS GAMES REFEREED BY A HOME CLUB OFFICIAL/PARENT WOULD EVENTUALLY LEAD TO THE SELF DESTRUCTION OF YOUTH FOOTBALL AS EVEN THESE PEOPLE WOUDNT TOLERATE THE ABUSE PARENTS AND OFFICIALS OF SOME CLUBS SUBJECT THESE REFEREES TO. |

Dear Don, I agree Referees are on a hiding to nothing and do get a load of stick. I personally would never want to Referee a game again following a bad experience last season. Taking note of your comments it seems that you were not at the match but you still make judgement that the Referee was subjected to abuse from disgruntled Parents. Far from it, the Parents from both sides behaved impeccably. If you read the Pendle view point of the game on their website they also mention the Referee. It's just disappointing that we spend a great deal of our own time (unpaid unlike Referee's) trying to prepare a team only for the Referee to take centre stage with constant whistle blowing. You also state that the Linesman does not keep up with play as in the professional game. However, our own linesman did keep up with play but on one occasion when he did flag for offside his flag was ignored by the Referee who claimed that he played advantage to us and let the attacking team score, what kind of advantage is that? As regards the "unbiased" remark I believe it was an unbiased report. You should read some of the other ones they are totally biased! Oh I also note that you placed your message on our message board at 3.45pm on a Saturday afternoon. Unfortuntely, being a true football fan, I was at Turf Moor watching Blackpool earn a deserved draw against Burnley. Something Blackpool Rangers should have done only a week earlier against Pendle Forest. |

WOW !!! BREAKING NEWS !!! The Blackpool Rangers report is blaming the referee for their result !!! Oh My Word !!! I just hope you have enough excuses left in your "Blackpool Rangers Bible" for when we play eachother. We are so looking forward to our visit to Preesall, have you bought a new Tractor? Hope you have YOUR Referee again....we do so like a challenge. I saw your team photograph in the paper the other day and it reminded me of my favourite TV programme......."The Beverley Hill Billies". Cya. |
