Casio CZ-1 sysex messages
Hi Sealed, Wow! What a great site! Many times I use your site to make the final decision on whether to buy a new synth or not. I recently saved a CZ-1 that was victimized by a rum and coke to the center of the keybed. Then it sat for 3 years. Yuk!!! I'm having problems finding the sysex message format to dump the 64 internal or cartridge patches. MidiQuest 9 doesn't seem to work with it. The CZ5000 profile dumps 32 patches and the CZ1000 16... So I know the synth is working fine. Do you have a copy of any of the sysex docs. They seem to be unavailable on the Web? Thanks for all the great work you've done here! Narfman |

Hi, Narfman! I'm sorry for being very late. Thank you for your comments and I'm glad to know now you are a CZ user. I haven't found/made a scanned version of CZ's sysex docs. But you can save your 64 patches of internal sounds by sending the bank using CZ's front panel. Just try looking at CZ manual - it's available in CASIO NZ site and the new site called casiology. http://casiology.pro.tc/ There you'll find the manual and the way to send the bank into your PC. Send the bank and record the MIDI stream in your sequencer. You can retrive the patches by playing back the sequence. |
