I have a 125' dipole at about 40' that I want to feed with 300 ohm ladder line. Due to the orientation of my ham shack it will be very difficult to run the window line directly to the balanced line terminals of my antenna tuner as I would have to make a number of sharp bends and blast through about 6" of brick..I am thinking about placing a 4:1 broadband current type balun (DX Engineering type) just outside the shack (out doors) using about 6' of coax from the tuned coax output of my tuner to the balun. Would this work?? Would there be any significant amount of power loss compared to running the window line directly to the tuner. Thanks for your answers in advance...73's Frank WA2NRC |
