I'm looking for information on John Foster and his son James.
BIRTH: England
DEATH: Reading, MA [S6]
EMIGRATION: ABT 1725, Reading, MA
Family 1: Catherine O'RAEGON
MARRIAGE: 14 DEC 1730, Middletown, MA
We are still in the original Foster farm here in Wentworth. Just bought it from a cousin who recently inherited it and didn't much care about the family history stored here. It's been stripped of all pictures and lineages (to a junk dealer!). House is still largely original with just a few modern perks (by modern I'm thinking 1935ish). My husband is John B. Foster. His family has been here now since the 1750's. There apparently is a cabin someplace on the property that is stood for a few years before this house. If old Aunt Iona was to be believed this house was built in 1753.
I guess what I'm looking for is the actual jump to the States. Family legend has it that John the first took off with the kings money. My daughter is also doing a report for school and needs the actual immigration info and connections to the king. Things a 12 year old would find appealing.
Hopefully we can restore the old house. She's rough. Iona passed 2 years ago and it sat vacant. She also knew she wasn't going to last forever and was pretty frugal with repairs. Most were done just long enough to last for her.
Wish I had the money to rescue tha family history from the junk dealer. I still get pretty angry and don't think I could be polite. Great grandfathers Noah's portrait I'm sure was destroyed for the frame. The old pictures aren't worth much unless your a family member. Old bible disappeared too.
Anyway the Fosters are still here where they've been for 250+ years. Still an interesting bunch of characters too. Help would be appreciated.
