To all in Tyler
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Tyler: I am so sorry for what has happened to you with this master contract. I stood for you on our picket line and for Me for all of us USWorkers plant and Job security, pension medical etc; but in the end it did not matter the rest of the USW sold us out. Be strong and hope for the best, behind every cloud is a silver lining. I am out of work to and only I am looking for work sooner...not for the USW ever again. Best of luck to all of you in Tyler in 2007 and to the yes voters of the USW Best of luck forever cause boy oh boy you are going to need it! |

we in Canada know how you feel in Tyler, we should be on strike now, still fighting for the other reason we were out on strike, plant security, but here we are. Best of luck in your new future, I'm looking forward to life without Goodyear here in Toronto, I'm going to find a job working for/with people who know how to treat people, people who "share the wealth" , and treat workers with the dignity we deserve. I challenge all my soon to be unemployed friends N.A. wide to seek the plenty companies and business out there that treat workers as people, there's a better life after goodyear, I will not work for a profit driven corporation again. We deserve better, I demand it in my future. Toronto stood on the line believing 16 plants would be protected not 13 but what is done, is done. Look forward not back, it's not all about money, it's about dignity and the respect we deserve in our future |

Mike. I hate to break th bad news to you, but all corporations are profit driven. Who in their right minds would get into business to not make money. Good luck in the future to all of you. |

As a former employer of Mr Michael Kennedy I would like to inform 3rd Shift that I disagree and Michael is perhaps one of the hardest working people I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I think perhaps you seem disgruntled that you will be out of a job long before Mike would. You read like an incredibly bitter individual and good luck to any future employers that may have the displeasure of every having you at their place of business. Good luck Michael and God speed. |

13? 16? No plants were protected. Valleyfield is a drop in the bucket. There are more closures scheduled. |

You'll see, by next contract they'll propose that Buffalo is not cutting the mustard and shut 'em down. I have source's very close to the head honcho's who have stated this. One of the American Axle plants(Delavan, ave) will be gone soon and Dunlop will soon follow. Harley will go to China. |

I think I can help save the buffalo plant. Tell the Canadians you need help in a fight for plant protection, then, when you decided you no longer want to protect one another, screw over the Canadians. Oh wait you already did that. Sorry I guess i cant help. |

Soon. You will all be gone soon. Far sooner than most of you think. There are two more plant closures scheduled for this year. One will be announced in June, the other in September. Both will close before Christmas 2007. |

No crystal ball needed. I was present for the meetings where the timeline was discussed. We do more than just sit in vans watching you walk back and forth. We, Good Year's Goon Squad were making preparations to shut down Valleyfield weeks before the announcement was made and were standing by at a nearby hotel 2 days in advance. When this plant has been reduced to just rubber mixing, we will move on to the next Canadian Plant getting the axe. |
