thanx alot to the states for leaving canada high and dry we stuck this strike out for you and our selfs but once you got what you wanted you basically screwed us and said bye and we never even got any thanx for standing strong but if anything this has shown who is the weaker the States you caved in canada stood strong !!!! |

we thank you but your country takes care of your medical expense.and i have kids who need insurance are you gonna pay 900 dollars a month for my cobra.if not than shut up we all need jobs and we feel we got a good deal.gy will get there,s next time you all will see |

Obviously the Canadian plants are not under the same contract that the ones here in the states got offered. Can WE help it that they offered the ones here in the states something different? I think that would be between YOU & YOUR UNION. Why would you want to say that the locals from the states screwed you over? Get serious! If an offer that satisfied ya had been reached there and not here your butt would be back to work too without any crap like this so get serious! Everyone needs a job and they have took the best they think they could possibly get at this time. I hope that Canada reaches an agreement with GoodYear as well and you guys are back to work soon but don't blame any of it on our locals here in the States...you look at YOUR UNION & GoodYear! My "Southern Belle" has all her teeth! She as well as I & many,many others didn't know that the Canadians weren't under the same contract as we are. Whenever you cross an international border,the laws change. I don't know if this is the reason for the differences in the language or not? But I do assure you "WE" the American segment of this "International Union" do support you & wish you the best,just as we do each local here in the states! We are all "GOD's" children & that makes "US" brothers & sisters in a way superior by far to the union brother & sister way of thinking! We as the American segment of this union do not even know what Goodyear offered you in your contract. I do know that "WE" haven't sold you out in any way! So to that end,rather than complaining about your offer from Goodyear(that we don't know anything about,other than they made one)and saying we sold you out,how about sharing the details with us,so we do know what you(Canadians)are going through in this.And then asking for "OUR" help instead of saying "WE" left you out to dry! If you ask for our help & then we do nothing,then you would have good reason to say these things about us. Until then please try to let us know what you are going through in this,& how "WE" can help! Ask & you shall receive to the best of "OUR" ability. |

I think that the big issue here is the Canadian workers are being told that they are going back to work based on the American ratification. Goodyear, however, is stating on their website that the contract applies only to the southern facilities. It would be helpful if someone would clarify this. If they aren't bound by the american agreement, they may be a little less hostile. |

In the canadian contract they are closing a plant in Toronto and masive lay offs in collingwood going down to about 95 workers. Our union did try to fight it was your union in the states that said during negoiations that no matter what that they are taking the contract when they knew very well what Canada got maybe your union had not informed you of this that`s why we felt screwed and there is no job security either. So you have to understand how we feel when our union said to them what the f.... are you doing they did not care and went ahead. |

And I find it so oddly amusing how you Yankees can find no other insults than to tell us Southerner's "to get some teeth" and refer us all as imbred...maybe instead of sitting back complaining about how the states (which includes alot of those Southerners) have sold you guys out and screwed you over you could spend this idle time you have on your hands coming up with better insults. Although I was flattered when you refered to me as Miss Southern Belle Maybe you do have some sense of descancy in you, you just don't know how to direct it.As for THEIR UNION being OUR UNION...Screwed Over then states " OUR UNION did try to fight, it was YOUR UNION in the states..." so you want to call me a retard? Your OWN UNION member doesn't know that it is the SAME UNION, if in fact it is. I am sure the Canadians have their own negotiating team. We here in the States never even had a clue (except for what we have read online) what Good Year was and is offering Canada! They even made Canada an offer when the Union here wasn't even talking and negotiating. And as I said, had ya got an offer that was acceptable you would be returning to work the first of the year without a second thought to the locals here in the states. So even though you "Eskimos" up there may have all your teeth as you stated seems you are so cold you have your balls sucked up in your ass from sitting around whining so much. Talk to YOUR UNION about this and not blame it on the states! |
