How do you figure that we got screwed & didn't get kissed??? I don't understand that one? We won the retirement trust fund for the retiree's,we kept our cola,our insurance premiums increase were minimal,way less than most American workers pay,& overall a pretty good contract compared to what most union's have got. We got back our 2 year loss on service time (gave up last contract)retained our $55 multiplier,guaranty of ticket & manning force? Where did we get screwed? We could have taken the limp wrist approach like most & not have gotten anything? And went backwards on all that!! Tyler is going to be shut down,but not for another year & they got a decent buy-out package. In todays world of corporate greed,we could have done so much worse! Wake up & smell the coffee! In todays market we did great! Bravo to the USWA,they did way better this time than last. Now it's time to show Goodyear & the corporate world what "WE" are made of! American workers with good work ethics. Next contract will be based on what we do with what we got this time! Do your best! Show the world WE as American workers WE, are the best!!1 day at a time,one tire at a time! Proud of our abilities & the desire to succeed against overwhelming odd's in competition against third world wages by making the best tires that money can buy! To all those that said we were sorry a$$,lazy spoiled rotten brats-well they just don't know what they are talking about! They seem to want to hold our wages & work ethics against us because we try,all the while they want to hold their sorry azz excuse of a life against people that have worked hard to make something of our selves.We don't hold them back from the American dream,they do! We spent a great deal of our lives in pusuit of a better life,rather than do something about it! They want to take away from those who have worked and tried hard to succeed! Why because it is so much easier to ***** about those that have rather than put forth the effort needed to do it! Please do not be daunted by small mentality people,just continue to do what they pay us for & ignore their petty ramblings! Prove as always what we are made of,rather than cry & whine about what they don't have because of their own laziness & lack of desire to succeed! WE are America's best.WE do what is neccessary. They try to blame their inadequesies on those that are willing to do their best even in adversity! Bravo to the union workman. Those who still have the heart to do what is right,even when it does cost us! Even if in the long run we eventually fail,we can walk away with a clear conscience,knowing that we did "OUR" best & that is really all anyone can do or ask of any of ourselves! They all want something for nothing,& we all know it doesn't work that way!! WE fought the good fight,for a good reason. WE won! It's that simple! Will it always be that way?? Who know's,but for now WE won If WE as Americans do NOT stand up for ourselves,then who will?? If we all do our best to preserve the "AMERICAN WAY OF LIFE" then at least WE have a fighting chance! If not we are all doomed to a minimum wage job to buy foreign products. The choice is "OUR'S"!! I sa "WE" won! Let's continue to do the best "WE" can at that & if "WE" fail then WE are still better than the small minded people who were content to call names & just act like the world owes them a living for inferior work effort! We have a little pride in our work & they still have foodstamps & a sob story no one really cares to listen to! May GOD BLESS all of "US" who stood the test & WON!!!!! And won "WE" did!! Thank you to all that put our hardships on the line for what "WE" believed in!! I know all the retiree's thank us for not forgetting them,when it would have been easy to say to heck with them & took care of "OURSELVES"!! May "WE" be so lucky & fortunate to have the future generations that will do what they can to protect what we have been promised when that time comes! Solidarity to all my "Brothers & Sister's! United WE stand Devided we beg! |
