you think they are the only ones with those problems NO. there are alot of people out there like that they just stand up for whats right and won,t let someone else fight there fight for them like you. if you did your homework you know the union helped people in need. we even had one scab take 3000.00 dollars from the union and go in 2 days later he will get his in the future! so don,t make excusses for some one with no BALLS> |

Doug, There are always idiots out there that take advantage of situations but that does not apply to everyone. Not every member is in the same situation financially and what I am upset about is the posting of the names. If someone confronted me If I had to make that kind of decision there wouldn't be much left of him or them, I can promise you that!! |

No matter what the reason for crossing, they are still what they are and need to except that and anything else that comes with that.(no stupid stuff like fighting or anything) but a list of there names isnt going to kill no one. Was laid-off awhile back did anyone fight for me? nope but that means I should turn my back on others (retires etc.) becouse of that? or becouse a few bills got backed up? and yes i have kids and they didnt get everything they wanted for Christmas but they are still happy there Dad isnt a scab.... |

A Scab is a Scab and that is the bottom line. There is no excuse that could possibly make it right no matter how you try to justify it!!! As for posting their names...they took that chance when they crossed that line! Not as if everyone isn't going to know who they are when they all return to work anyway! They are TRADERS...Scab Traders and should be portrayed as such! We ALL had bills to pay, families to feed and support. We all had to pay for the roof over our head. And it was a hard Christmas for many of us. But not all of us stooped to that level nor would we ever no matter what. Get out and find another job like many of our loyal locals done! There is no excuse for being a Scab Trader. Bottom line. |

Congratulations on all for finally having te union present you with the original offer. Of course, the executive holds back the actual contract offer. This is so when they are unable to make any headway they feed you all some more of the original offer to make it look like they are fighting for you. And as for you guys in Canada. Sorry the union didn't present this offer to you a couple years ago when GY gave it to them. ANd sorry your American brothers have sold you out. So much for solidarity. |

Let me be clear. I am a USW member, not a scab you illiterate tool. As far as my comment about not much difference, I've been involved with plants closing in the past and it usually takes a year or more to close once the announcement has been made. So congratulations, you managed to get an actual date on the closure. And don't forget, you managed to save GY close to $200 million in payroll while you were out. So what did you actually gain. Bet your executive made out like bandits. Curious how much your dues will go up. Congrats on the contract though. |

Union member, you're right, I should have refered to them as OUR executive, and yes, $860 million is less than a billion. My bad. Fact remains, you got it from both ends, and sold out your Canadian brothers and sisters. "No agreement until ALL facilities get plant protection". Well, I guess that depends on whether or not you had a say in things. And no, javing a definate closure date doesn't suck any less, but at least when it happened to me the union didn't mask it as an actual victory for the negotiation team. Bottom line, you got screwed, but at least you can all get back to earning a full paycheck, congratulations |
