Chin wants the outdoors

Do you have a chin who wants to be back in the wild? I have 7 chins. One of whom, Brian, will spend hours sitting on the window ledge. Does your little friend, like mine, perhaps hunger to be back in the Andes?

Re: Chin wants the outdoors

Has been a while so will reply to my own post. I think my chin's behaviour confirms that chins need lots of time outside the cage. They are intelligent little fellows and we should consider their needs...all the best...J

Re: Chin wants the outdoors

Hi John, Sorry you had to answer your own posting perhaps this good weather all chinnie owners are out enjoying it.You have risen a subject dear to my heart re: external exercising for chinchillas. I am a devotee of said having on numerous occasions mentioned it.The more exercise given [under supervision if necessary] the better for the psyche of the creature. Whatever animal from a stick insect to a elephant all need daily exercising. If you do put your pets outside during this warm spell make sure they are not in direct sunshine. Remembering that the sun is on the move at all times. Make sure the cage/accommodation whilst outside is suitable and not easy for the chinchilla to escape/or dig out from. Always apply common sense. Best wishes. Roger.
