hello, i just found out that 15 chinchillas were dropped off at the camarillo animal shelter in california. I am about to run over there to find out since they won't tell you anything over the phone. Please if you know anyone who lived around this area, please let them know. This is not right for them to be put down. People shouldn't breed these animals if they don't know what they are getting them selves into. That is why even through the death of my Gizmo I would get the first one that comes along to replace him. I would stick with another male, that Chupa would get a long with. This is very upsetting and I'm going to see what I can do. I'll keep posting on what I find out. Again it's the Camarillo Animal shelter of Ventura county. Camarillo, california

Hi Shannon, What a horrid and sad circumstance! It really makes my blood boil when I hear horror stories like this. It is great that you will be giving one of them a new forever home.
