transitional introduction

Hi there! looking for advice. I'm introducing a 7 month male to another who is several years old. The older one has been on his own for about 7 months. My chins have their own room and i have let the two out together about twelve times now. They no longer fight but haven't really formed a bond yet. The older one tends to stay in the cage by himself and the younger one respects that he needs his space. I would like to know if it is safe for me to just let them get on with it now and perhaps leave them to run around the cage and the rest of the room unattended. Thanks

Re: transitional introduction

Hi John, Sounds like the two of them are going to be great mates!! If you have left them out together and there has been no fur flying and aggressive behaviour, I think you can leave them alone starting with a few minutes and gradually extending the time. If it would make you feel better (and personally I'd do this) is rub them both with a little baby powder and see how they get on from there. Take care and keep us posted! Liz, CCL
