all chinchillas when changing homes stress a little for a week or so. They hate change of environments [like most species], with patience they will adjust to their new accommodation. Do bond with them both orally/physically, touching and speech the latter to asure them.....
Bald patch on the chinnies back, firstly I would get them both checked over by your vet. Mentioning the patch, it may be the other chin has bitten it off [possobly because of a non-ruffage diet]. Or a physical reason the latter will be diagnosed by your vet and subsequent treatment given. Chinchilla fur will take up to six months to grow back to a pristine condition. Perhaps a application of 'Athlete's Foot Powder' rubbed into the area will disperse any fungal infection. Start putting a level teaspoon of said talc into their bathing dust each time new dust is used. Do hope this has helped you. Please continue to ask questions and do tour our very informative website. Best Wishes. Roger, C.C.L.
