Hei,
I read the material with great interest.
1. Because I can relate to Goa but from a distant. I was born and raised abroad. Nevertheless, the parts that overlapped my life can reflect my feelings as they have been expressed in this posting.
2. It provided a brief history of key issues tracing our demise as a result of inapptitude,indolance and just not being up to it as Nehru rightly anticipated.
3. It supports my fears as expressed in my own writings to Goanet based on very little evidence and more on gut feel.
4. The article clearly set out that the writing was on the wall. Trying to shut the stable after the horse has bolted is a mission impossible.
5. I feel trying to salvage what is unsalvageable is blind optimisim. I feel for us. We are on our own now. We had our peace even if we did not know it. Many who enjoyed our times and moaned about it will be in shock. Many will go to the wall. Others will have to accept that we will have to make our own way. Gives a new meaning of how it must feel to be lost in space.
