night-time protection

Hi...could use some advice from someone out there....Am using cloth diapers at night, stuffed with a liner and covered with plastic pants, but am still leaking and soaking the bed. Have tried "pointing" myself downward, but while sleeping that never lasts...Have also tried wearing underwear over the plastic pants to help keep them in place, and have sewn the waist up for a snugger fit, all to no avail.....anyone with any hints on what I can try to keep everything dry?? Any help is appreciated....

Re: night-time protection

steve,to me you may need to wear a large, more loose fittng cloth diaper wth lager plastic pants than you would wear during th day. you can add all kinds of bulk but you may need to consider allowing some movement in your genitalia as you sleep rather than constrict it. it seems to me as we sleep we toss and turn and go thru erotic sensations.

Steve---

Recommend a vinyl "cover-all" available only via "Babykins" of Canada. www.babykins.com Check their adult catalogue. Cost approx. $25.00. The coverall is a one-piece product that will prevent leakage and save your mattress.

Re: night-time protection

Stevew, I had the exact same problem and it seemed that I was doomed to wet the bed. But then I started to double up the night diapers, and still use a liner as well. It's a little bulky, but it works great! No more leaks now for over 2 years. Just be sure to order some pants that will fit over the diapers good. The next size up should be good enough.

Steve

I am a very heavy night wetter due to having to take a water pill because of a
heart condition. (My heart fills with water if I don't take the pill).

I wear 2 gauze pre-fold night diapers (bought from ACD) They are very very absorbant. I waddle like a duck but boy
do they ever hold the wet.

The High back leakmaster pull on pants work perfect to ensure that I don't leak in the back. The night diapers get softer & very comfortable after several washes.

I recommend the large 2" diaper pins.

I have washed my night diapers many many many times & they still look like new.

Sorry I meant 3 inch diaper pins. Old fashion style. ACD has them.

Re: night-time protection

Thicker diapers! I've been an adult bedwetter for over
10 years, so I have a little experience here.
At first, I thought tighter plastic pants were the
answer. I tried plastic pants of many brands and sizes.
Even when I used the smallest plastic pants that
would fit me, I still woke up in a wet bed. I would
take off my wet diapers and plastic pants in the
morning to find deep red bands around my legs, where
the tight elastic leg bands of my plastic pants cut
into my skin. And yet, my bed was still wet! After
talking to other bedwetters on line, I started using
thicker diapers, and my bed started staying dry.

The fact is, if your diaper is soaked, the pee WILL
squeeze out somewhere. Now if you're in daytime diapers
and walking around, a soaked diaper may only
result in urine pooling in the crotch of your
plastic pants. But sit or lie down in that soaked
diaper and the pee will escape from leg or waist bands.
The solution is add more fabric to soak up the
urine, so the diaper is wet, but not completely
saturated.

Now days, (Or nights...) I use 1 adult cotton diaper
and layer smaller cloth baby diapers down the center
for more absorbancy. Most nights, I use 4 prefold baby
diapers for soakers. If I've been drinking more
beverages that evening, I'll use 6 baby diapers as
soakers. Yes, it makes for a very bulky diaper, but I
VERY SELDOM wake up in a wet bed! Maybe twice a year-
and usually only because I used 4 soaker-diapers when
it was a 6 soaker-diaper night. Also, my plastic pants
never leave marks on my legs anymore, since I can use
larger sizes, and still not have wet sheets in the
morning.

Of course, it depends on how much you normally pee at
night as to how thick your diaper needs to be...
Just keep adding more diapers until you wake up dry!
