Re: poopy diapers

How mobile are you?

I'm fully mobile so this ia how I do it if not in the comfort of my own home:

* Strip down to your diaper
* Legs apart slightly, crouch a bit
* Carefully undoe the tabs with your bum over the toilet seat (seat down in case you accidently drop the dipaer).
* Gently lower the loaded diaper down, pass between your legs, then lower onto the floor in front of you.
* Lift up the toilet seat, tip the waste into the bowl.
* Use the front section of the diaper to wipe the mess from your buttocks. Best if this front section has been saturated with urine as this aids in cleaning. (If you drink lots of water the urine won't be smelly)
* Often the top part of the back end of the diaper is still clean so you can carefuly use this for final cleaning.
* Finish up with toilet paper, or if you have them disposable wipes.
* Roll up the diaper from front to rear, so you can bring the tabs around to fasten it like a parcel once rolled.
* And your done!

You might want to hop into the shower after this step

Re: poopy diapers

I use the mini shower ACD sells. It's like a hand held shower head but smaller and attached to your toilet. You can use it to rinse excess poop from the diaper and to help clean your behind. It doesn't get everything off the way taking a shower would but it is faster and easier. Sometimes I have 4 or 5 dirty diapers a day. I'm just not prepared to take that many showers or hear my landlord scream about the huge water bill.

Re: poopy diapers

I have discussed this with another person struggling with this and here are a few tips I would add. If you have good insurance, get gloves and wear them for this. Not because your own poop is a big deal, but if you get your hands in it, you can shed the glove and still have a clean hand to put your clothes back on with to get to the sink.
You can also buy a large ceramic conainer similar to or same as cookie jar and keep washclothes soaking in water with tea tree oil. Use liberally for wipedown and then place in another jar ...we used to call them bean crocks. They have a rubber gasket and wire pull. This keeps it from spilling (should the dog happen to hit it with his tail..) and also keeps smell down.
Other thoughts. Many people shave or use hair removal products to make that area easier for themselves to clean.
