The rip off..... £20

Has anything yet been decided on what time the £20 has to be in on race day and what is happening with the money ? Or will this be decided by the league secret service at somepoint, and communicated to the members just in time to be to late !
While i'm at it what will the race format be ? will qualifiers be held first or after members races.
Lets hope the wether holds for the North western leagues first meeting of the season.

Re: The rip off..... £20

HI ANDREW!

There still seems to be some confusion about the format for qualifying meetings, so I am trying to find out once and for all about whether points for club racers will be available.
I know that the idea is for the qualifying heats to be run first, followed by the normal club races.
I assumed (wrongly?) that points WOULD be awarded for club racers as they are, in effect, separate races to the qualifying programme, but I will double check and let you know.

Once the first qualifier is done and dusted, we'll all know what we're doing !!!

Cheers,
GED

Re: The rip off..... £20

PLEASE DO NOT BE MISTAKEN THESE ARE MY PERSONAL VIEWS AND INFO I BELIEVE TO BE CORRECT.

Whether club points are awarded is down to each individual club, As far as I am aware NW will not be awarding club points , not sure what Leewood have planned at their meeting.

It was felt that because drivers who wished to try to qualify would be excluded from the days club racing and therefore to award club points would be unfair.

My personal view is that 2 classes of racing is wrong, if people want to qualify for the nationals they should have full heats of ALL ABILITIES to race. I am personally against providing 'Superstar' racing and funding people to go to the Nationals. Has anyone ever refused to go to the nationals due to lack of funds?

I am for supporting club racers who support the club (& league) all year round, not just the ones who only turn up to qualifying. They do not support the clubs with gate money and help so why should the club & league support / fund them.

Re: The rip off..... £20

HI CARLA & NW MEMBERS

That's the very reason I didn't commit to a definite reply...it all seems a bit of a "grey area" to me...and I'm on Leewood's committee!!
I'm in a similar line of thinking to Carla..."If it ain't broke, why fix it" comes to mind!

Anyway the powers that be (not me) must have method in their madness....we'll see.

Hope NW have a great meeting on Sunday (should have a very good turnout). Good luck to all North West Clubs.

Regards,
GED
