Finalists!
Well done to all the squad for reaching the KO Final tonight. A superb first half performance when 2-0 was a travesty-it could even have 5-0 by then with the woodwork and Byrnesy going English by missing a penalty(and equalling his brother too!).Caswell & Byrne scored to gain us distance and it looked as though it would be a demolition job on a side 2nd in the Premier. A very dubious goal in the 57th minute brought Blackstones back into it-if only the referee acknowledged the lino!!This brought Stones back to life and from hereon the remainder of the game was a challenge. Overall,totally competent win gaining a much-deserved place in the Final against what will be a difficult Daventry side. As we arrived back in Desborough Station Road was at a standstill from all the locals out celebrating and I'm sure the milkman will have difficulties making his deliveries through the throng. As one of the Committee,we, along with all supporters need to bring along friends,family, pets and vagabonds to the final and really get behind the team. I'm just glad I've kept all my entry tickets from John Lee to ensure I get my Cup Final ticket!! Seriously, well done lads.... |
